GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR COURT BOOKINGS AT PRINCE ALFRED PARK, SURRY HILLS
We like to keep your bookings and tennis experience as easy and straight forward as possible, so it's important that you read the following Terms & Conditions to understand how Jensen's manages bookings and events.
OFFICE HOURS
Monday to Friday: 08:00 to 21:00
Saturday & Sunday: 08:00 to 19:00
Public Holidays: 10:00 to 19:00
Office Hours can change without notice due to adverse weather conditions. If the weather looks uncertain you must call the Club before making your booking or to check your existing booking on wet days. If courts are unplayable the Club will do its best to contact players using contact details provided.
PLAYER CONDUCT
Players must follow staff directions at all times. Aggressive behaviour towards staff or other players will not be tolerated. See Code of Conduct
NO SMOKING
In the interests of Public Health and comfort, smoking is not permitted on the courts, in the changing rooms or within the administrative areas of Jensen's Tennis Centre.
The administrative areas includes the Clubhouse and its surrounds.
NO PARKING
Patrons are not permitted to park their vehicles within Prince Alfred Park - hefty fines apply.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Please contact the Club during office hours
Minimum 6 hours cancellation notice for all Court Hire, Social Tennis and Special event bookings. (Please try to give as much notice as you can so your court time or place can be used by another player.)
Minimum of 24 hours cancellation notice for Group Classes & Private Lessons. (Please try to give as much notice as you can so your place can be used by another player.)
No shows & last minute cancellations will not be credited unless of course the Club can re-let your booking. The Club will try its best!
For all pre-paid bookings that are affected by unplayable weather or have been cancelled in the required space of time (24hrs Group & Private Tuition, 6hrs Court Hire & Social Tennis) the Club will grant a Club Credit.
Club Credits from May 1st 2008 will expire after six months (180 days) from the time the initial credit is granted or until such a time as Jensen's Tennis Centre ceases trading/operating at its present location in Prince Alfred Park, Surry Hills (whichever comes first).
The Club does not give cash, cheque or credit card refunds for court hire, event cancellations & Pro-Shop purchases.
The Club is not under any obligation to refund any unused Credits. The onus is on players to use credits within the specified time period.
Players returning Overseas or moving Interstate please contact the Club if you have a Credit.
COURT BOOKINGS
1. Jensen's Tennis Centre reserves the right to:
Make price changes without notice.
Cancel any booking at short notice. (The Club will contact you and re-assign a different time or give a refund if deemed appropriate).
Re-assign a court other than the court which has been booked specifically online or otherwise.
2. Pre-payment
The Club requires pre-payment for all bookings.
3. Double Bookings
The Club does not take responsibility for booking conflicts.
Pre-paid bookings take precedence over any booking claim.
It is the client's responsibility to provide evidence of any booking claim.
Where the Club is found to be in error, it will do its utmost to rectify the situation - however, refer to point (i).
4. Commercial Bookings
Use of the bookings system is for Individual Use Only & is not re-saleable.
Tennis Coaches are not permitted to book courts without prior permission from Jensen's Management. Commercial Rates may apply.
Event Management Companies must apply in writing to Jensen's Tennis Centre & the City of Sydney Council outlining the exact details of the event that is to be held, before any booking considerations can be made.
5. Time Extension
Extending your booking is not free of charge. Please check with the office first - if you have booked a court for an hour and play an extra 20 minutes additional court hire fees apply. This will be charged at the pre-paid rate for that time period divided by the amount of time that has been used.
6. Extra Courts
Using an extra court/s is not free of charge. Please check with the office first - If you happen to be playing doubles and decide to play singles because the court next to you is vacant, additional court hire fees apply. This will be charged at the pre-paid rate for that time period divided by the amount of time used.
7. Member Bookings
Members are not permitted to book courts/events for non-members to obtain the members discount rate.
8. Member Hire
Members are not permitted to obtain for a non-member the use of a Club 'Hire Racquet' for free.
9. Permanent Bookings
It is Jensen's policy not to grant permanent bookings. However, Permanent Bookings that have been granted are only done so on the condition that players understand the booking is not an indefinite fixture and may be needed by the Club at a later date. The Club takes precedence over any booking.
GROUP AND PRIVATE LESSONS
Pre-payment is required for all Group Classes
A minimum 24 hours cancellation notice is required for Group Classes and Private Lessons.
USING ITN NUMBERS (International Tennis Number) for Group Classes & Social Tennis
The Club uses an ITN Number as a guide to assist you the player to identify your standard. Group Classes & Social Tennis fall into 5 levels which are:
Beginner ITN 10 to 9
Low Intermediate ITN 8
Intermediate ITN 7-5
Advanced (2) ITN 5
Advanced (1) ITN 4 to 2
Players are requested to follow these guides at all times when booking into classes and social tennis. If you are unsure of your level you may contact the Club for a grading.
PLAYING AT THE WRONG LEVEL
The Club reserves the right to advise players of their appropriate level/standard/ITN which overrides a player's self-assessment. On rare occasions players can grade themselves incorrectly - usually too high - and a coach or staff member will advise them to which level class or social tennis group they can participate in.
If a staff member advises you that your level is not appropriate for a particular Class/Social Group
we ask players not to take offence and dispute the assessment. The Club expects Members/Players to follow and respect the advice of the coach/staff in an appropriate way.
Once players have been advised not to participate at a certain level, they cannot book into that class or group until such a time as they reach that level through coaching and regular practice - the staff will advise when a player is ready to move up.
Players
who continue to re-book into levels where they have been advised otherwise will be refused entry into that level.
Club players may request a grading session with a Club coach or the Director to verify their ITN level if they feel it is too low.
PLAYING OUTSIDE OFFICE HOURS - Membership & pre-payment is required
1. Members are required to obtain a key from the office and pay a refundable key deposit of $25.00.
A further $25.00 deposit will be required to obtain another set of keys if the original set of keys are lost or stolen.
Monies are not refunded for lost or stolen keys.
Members must not copy or lend the keys to others.
Keys are for the exclusive use of the registered KEY HOLDER.
If players in your group wish to play early morning they must become Members & obtain a separate key from office.
2. Members may use the Key until such a time as they wish to let their membership lapse.
3. The key deposit will be refunded when the keys are handed back to the Club.
4. Refund is by Cash or Credit Card. This will depend on your initial payment for the key. Details are recorded at the time of purchase.
5. Members please observe the following:

6. If you intend to play and are unable to Pre-Pay via the Jensen's website then you must:
Contact the club the day before or leave a message on the Club's answering service if phoning outside of office hours.
The above also includes any time changes i.e. your booking is at 07:00 & you start at 08:00
HIRE RACQUETS & BALLS - Only available during office hours
Standard racquets per session: $3.00 | Free members
Fischer Demo racquets: $5.00 | $3.00 members
Tennis balls: $1.00 per ball/0.50c for members
UTS Tennis Club Members: Racquets & Balls are Free to use.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is valid until the end of each financial year i.e. 30th June.
Membership Includes Tennis NSW Registration & all discounts associated with Tennis NSW Membership
Membership Includes Jensen's discounted court hire, social tennis, group & private tuition, weeknight competitions & pro-shop sales
Members are permitted to hold keys for courts until such a time as their Membership expires
Membership is non refundable
Membership cannot be cancelled and carried over to the next financial year
UTS MEMBER DISCOUNTS - Fair play policy
Discounted Lessons & Social Tennis is only available to Current full time UTS Students. UTS Alumni, Staff, Part-time & Post Graduate Students are entitled to Discounted Membership & UTS Tennis Club Special Events.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Players please be advised that you may contact Patrick Jensen if you feel that you have been unfairly treated. Refer to Player Policy on the Jensen's website

Please use the Tennis Pavilion for food and beverage consumption and place rubbish in the bins provided. Please leave the Facility tidy.

2. Booking a Court at Glebe
All Casual & Permanent bookings are payable in advance either by Credit Card (Internet or Phone), (EFTPOS or Cash at Jensen's Tennis Centre).
Players are provided with a PIN Number on receipt of payment to access courts.
The PIN number is provided to you via email (with booking receipt) or verbally (over the phone).
Your PIN number remains unchanged for all future bookings. (Contact Jensen's if you would like a PIN of your choice.)
Players may access courts/amenities block 10 minutes before and 15 minutes after their booking.
Please do not place objects between gates, for the purpose of keeping door(s) open or for any other reason. This will set off the gate alarm.
3. Double Bookings
